What we're doing to embrace this advice:

  • Reduced maximum group size to 5, plus instructor

  • Enhanced cleaning between tours

  • The rest should be obvious, but if you have any concerns, please ask us...


1.  How long is the tour?

You need to allow about 2 hours in total - there's health and safety paperwork to complete; you have your helmet fitted, and then training. When we're happy that you're ready, you'll be out on the course, riding your Segway for at least an hour or more.



2.  Can I have a go before I pay?

Sure! We have a 'try-before-you-buy' policy. (You'll still need to do the paperwork and wear a helmet, though)



3.  Do I have to pay a deposit?

Yes for groups of 4 or more. The answer used to be NO, but we've been let down a few times. Now we ask for a deposit of £35, refundable if you let us know in advance that you can't make it, or if we need to cancel. Seems fair!



4.  If I change my mind after doing the training, will I get my money back?

It's not a problem - if you've already paid, we'll just refund you.


5.  What if I haven't got good balance?

You don't need to worry - Segways are self-balancing machines. As long as you follow our safety rules, guidance and our instructor's advice, you're much less likely to have a problem. That's why we have a 'try-before-you-buy' policy, so you've got nothing to lose! 

6.  What should I wear?

Flat footwear to cover your feet - not flip flops, sandals, or heels! Comfortable jeans, trousers or leggings and waterproofs if needed... We provide helmets and warm gloves. You can wear your own helmet if you want. 

7.  What's the largest group you can take out?

We can take up to 5 people in a group at the moment.

8.  Can under 16s go without a parent or guardian?

Yes they can! For extra peace of mind, your instructor has Enhanced DBS Disclosure.*

9.  What's the minimum age?

It's more about being able to manage the Segway - you need to be physically & emotionally ready, no matter how young or old you are! Remember, you'll be in charge of a heavy vehicle. This is why we let you try first!

11.  What if the weather's really bad?

We may have to cancel if we think it's not safe, but we would always refund you if we can't rearrange your tour.

12.  What if I need to cancel my booking?

15. Can I take my baby or my dog with me on the Segway?


16. How safe is it?

You can lose control of a Segway if you don't ride it carefully. Follow the safety rules and briefings from your instructor, and you'll have less chance of hurting yourself or anyone else!
